For youth aged 16 and older. Every second Saturday beginning at 7:30pm, at the church from September through May.
Zion URC has been blessed with a large group of young people committed to their Lord and Saviour. We start off our Bible study evenings with worship through singing and prayer after which we divide into smaller discussion groups to learn how to apply to our lives what we read in the Bible.
Along with Bible studies, we also hold various social events throughout the year such as an annual mid-summer camping trip, a games night, a day on the slopes enjoying the sports of skiing or snowboarding, an evening of gym activities, as well as occasional bowling outings. We do campfires, go tobogganing and skating, enjoy fellowship in prayer and praise evenings, as well as do lunch at different church families’ homes after Sunday morning worship.
We also participate in various outreach activities such as singing for the residents at Wentworth Lodge in Dundas, Christmas caroling and holding coffee houses for the community of Sheffield. We also encourage each other by getting together to write letters to our MPs as well as letters of encouragement to persecuted Christians around the world. Finally, every year on a Saturday in the month of November, we host a youth conference attended by young people from all over Southern Ontario to which we invite a speaker and have discussions on a relative topic as well as enjoy fellowship through games and activities.
You are welcome to attend any of these events! If you would like more information or if you are interested in joining us, we would love to hear from you. Simply send an email to our youth leaders. There is always room for you, too!
